Predictors of Medication Adherence among Patients with Bipolar I Disorder

The present study aimed to determine predictors of medication adherence among patients diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder (BP-I). Another aim was estimate differences different marital status in perceived social support, internalized stigmatization and adherence. Correlational research design used a sample 103 participants gathered using purposive sampling method. Data collected by administering Multidimensional Scale Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Internalized Stigma Mental Illness (ISMI), General Medication Adherence (GMAS). Results illustrated support (R2 = .46, F (3, 99) 28.52, p<0.001) R2 .49, (8, 94) 11.40, be significant Furthermore, it found that married individuals bipolar disorder received more [F (1, 101) 4.08, p .04] were adherent 6.35, .01] as compared single disorder. However, no difference between their experience stigmatization. Present highlights the need for awareness campaign where are informed regarding importance also educational workshops skill building
